Code of Conduct
In accordance with the provisions of Article 17 of Law 679/2001 and Law 1329 of July 17, 2009, Hotel Poblado Alejandría informs guests, clients, and suppliers that the sexual exploitation and abuse of minors in Colombia are subject to criminal and administrative sanctions, in accordance with current laws. Our staff members are required to implement the minimum control measures established in the Code of Conduct.
CODE OF CONDUCT (LAW 1336 OF 2009)
To counteract the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents (ESCNNA) at Hotel Poblado Plaza, we have adopted this Code of Conduct, which has been reviewed by all staff members of the establishment. The obligations set forth in Articles 16 and 17 of Law 679 of 2001 are thereby enforced, as well as the prevention of behaviors described in Article 19 of the same law. This code also incorporates the following minimum control measures:
- Refrain from offering, either explicitly or implicitly, ESCNNA-related plans within tourism promotion programs and tourist packages.
- Refrain from providing tourists, either directly or indirectly, with information about places where ESCNNA is coordinated or practiced.
- Refrain from transporting tourists, either directly or through third parties, to establishments or locations where ESCNNA is practiced, as well as transporting them to places where tourists are staying, including vessels located at sea, for ESCNNA purposes.
- Refrain from providing vehicles on tourist routes for purposes of exploitation or sexual abuse involving children and adolescents (ESCNNA).
- Prevent the entry of children and adolescents into hotels, lodging and accommodation establishments, bars, similar businesses, and other establishments that provide tourist services, when such entry is intended for exploitation or sexual abuse.
- Adopt measures to prevent any staff member, regardless of their employment status with the company, from offering tourist services that could facilitate sexual activities involving children and adolescents.
- Report to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism and other competent authorities any known facts or the existence of places related to ESCNNA, and ensure that internal reporting channels are available within the company for submitting relevant complaints to the authorities.
- Develop and disseminate an internal company policy, along with suppliers of goods and services, that establishes measures to prevent and counteract any form of ESCNNA in travel and tourism.
- Train all personnel linked to the establishment on the prevention of Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (ESCNNA).
- Inform users about the legal consequences in Colombia of the commercial sexual exploitation of children and adolescents.
- Display this Code of Conduct and other commitments and measures adopted by the provider in a visible location for employees of the establishment or commercial establishments to ensure the protection of children and adolescents.
